Medical disclaimer
The short version: these are screening tools, not a diagnosis. See an eye care professional for a proper exam.
Not a diagnosis
The color blind test, red-green test, kids’ test, astigmatism dial, online eye test and printable eye chart on this site are screening tools. They cannot diagnose color blindness, astigmatism, nearsightedness, farsightedness or any eye disease, and they cannot rule any of them out. Only an eye care professional can diagnose a condition.
Results depend on your setup
On-screen results depend on your screen, its brightness and color settings, night mode, the room lighting, your distance from the screen and your concentration. Printed charts depend on your printer and on measuring the distance. Always check the scale on the printed chart.
General information only
The information on this site is general and comes from the public sources listed on each page. It is not medical advice, and it has not been reviewed by an eye care professional. It does not replace advice from your doctor, optometrist or ophthalmologist.
When to see an eye doctor
See an optometrist or eye doctor if you have concerns about your vision or your child’s vision, if you find it hard to tell colors apart, if your color vision or sharpness of vision changes, or if you have eye pain, sudden vision loss, flashes or floaters. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Children
A short screening cannot confirm a child’s color vision. Routine eye exams are the way to check a child’s eyes.
